Broadview
Greenville, SC
This urban design in Greenville’s East Broad Street and McDaniel Avenue neighborhood incorporates brick, stone, and textile mill-inspired touches. Dwellings are arranged around a central courtyard, a strategy previously used at Markley Place. This layout creates a sense of community and provides each residence with city views from private balconies.
To meet the client’s desire to continue to raise the bar for quality, efficiency, and speed, the design uses panelized light gauge structural wall panels. This approach results in an accurately framed structure, with enhanced acoustic performance over conventional construction.
The result is a material-efficient, architecturally integrated, restorative design that includes recycled steel, reclaimed masonry, low-VOC finishes, and intentional daylighting.
